Every page on this site, with a line on what each one does

Twenty-six dated departures stand on the board at $1,615 to $4,855 per person, and every page that lists, prices or reserves one of them is indexed below. The site runs three levels deep: the pages in the menu, the twelve months, and one page for each departure. A note sent from any of them is answered within one business day.

Midday: a high notch in a bare ridge with successive blue ranges visible through it, thin clear mountain air

The three levels nest inside each other. At the top are the pages in the menu, each one answering a single question about reserving a departure. Beneath them sit twelve month pages, one for each month of the year, holding whatever leaves inside it. Beneath those sit twenty-six departure pages, one for every row on the board, each with its own dates, its own figure per person, and its own account of what the operating company puts behind the week. Everything on this site belongs to one of those three levels, and all of it is listed here.

Which page answers which question

Most people arrive holding one of four things. A month they can take off work: the year laid out month by month cuts the board down to whatever leaves inside it. An appetite to read the whole year in one sitting: all twenty-six departures at once runs all twenty-six rows in date order with the figure beside each. A question about how a figure is built, asked before asking for one: the pricing page takes a single departure apart into the nights, the moves between them, the guiding, and the meals the operating company states in writing. A date already settled with everyone who has a say in it: the page on requesting a figure is the form that starts it, and the working method here is what this office does between your message arriving and a reservation standing in your name.

One page for a month, one page for a departure

The two lower levels answer different questions, and it saves a click to know which one you want. A month page answers what leaves in June, and it is the faster way in when a calendar has already decided for you. A departure page answers what one particular week consists of: the dates the operating company has committed to, how much slack those dates carry, the figure per person, what that figure covers, and what your own travel to the start point leaves you to arrange. One place can hold two departure pages in the same year at two figures, because a week at the height of a season and a week once the season has loosened are different goods with different costs behind them.

Where the terms live

Five pages carry rules rather than trips. answers to the usual questions answers what arrives most often, in the same plain words for the awkward questions as for the easy ones. how a cancellation actually works sets out what happens if you stand a reservation down, and those terms come from the operating company, so they differ from one row to the next. The terms of business page states what this office is answerable for and what belongs to the operator instead. The privacy page says what becomes of the note you send, who reads it, and how long the file stays open once the trip is over. The accessibility page describes how the board itself is built to be read, including what the corner mark beside each figure means and where the same thing is written out in words.
